PETFLIGHT QUOTES are very reliable. We provide a well researched written quotation that is good for the industry standard 30 days (E&OE), and we generally require payment about 30 days prior to flight.

SURELY YOU'VE SHIPPED THERE BEFORE, JUST TELL ME OVER THE PHONE - BALLPARK IT. We know you want a number right now (to make your decision); but when the price isn't researched properly, in your pets specific case, for their size, and weight, and breed, at the time of year they'll be flying, you get the wrong information to base your decisions on. We never ballpark, we never just give a general number over the phone. There isn't some big graph (like the distance from Toronto to London) that has all been pre-worked with all the airlines for every size of kennel, and every breed of pet to every international airport in the world, for every season of the year. It does take a bit of time to get the numbers out of the airline. You can expect a quote to take from a couple of hours (during business hours), up to 4 working days (longer if you don't complete our online COST form). Our quote is unlikely to change much, even 6 months from the date we send it. It is carefully calculated, considering your pets needs, the requirements of the country, the availability of flights, the routing, additional costs for arrival on weekends and/or holy days, extreme temperature embargoes ...etc.
We do need you to provide all the information we ask, in writing (to avoid misunderstandings). Please complete the online cost form (link button above right), and hit the SEND button at the bottom of that form when you have completed it. PLEASE MEASURE, AND WEIGH YOUR PET.
IPATA. We belong to IPATA in order to be informed of all up to date changes in the destination country requirements, and for confidence in the overseas agents to provide reliable service, and price. Even so, regulations are always changing in all countries (some without notice, and some with more regular changes than once weekly).
COST BREAKDOWN. Our quote is our understanding of the pet shipment you want us to move, based on the information you provided. It lists all the things we will be doing, and all the things we expect you to do, coming to a total price at the bottom. Pet pick up, from your home, back to our choice of airport veterinary hospital, is the only cost that you can deduct from our invoice - if you deliver the pet(s) to us on the date we indicate (before 11am please). Overseas charges are shown as additional, or indicated as included. Should you want a cheaper price, we will re-quote, giving you more responsibilities. The costs are not broken down, as the total is not negotiable - it is the amount we require in order to move your pet(s), given the quote listed points to be done.
ACCEPTANCE Once quoted, you have 14 days to approve it by phone or email, otherwise the file will be considered not accepted, and your pet flight request will be removed from our system.
PERMITS AND APPLICATIONS For some countries, we can apply for these on your behalf, but for others, (such as South Africa) our overseas agent, or your family, will have to do this some weeks (or months) prior to shipment.
PET PICKUP There is a sliding scale based on distance, and time. We have picked up from as far away as Deep River (above Algonquin Park), Windsor, Owen Sound, and Fort Erie. If you wish to deliver in to our office instead, our quotation indicates how much you can deduct from the total.
TRANSIT BOARDING The airline considers you (as the unknown shipper of the pet) a risk to the aircraft. We all now live under the constant threat of terrorism. Ever since we started Petflight, we have always separated pet from owner for at least 24 hours. The pet has been taken to a specific veterinary hospital, of our choosing. In most cases, the purpose is to complete veterinary work that is required by the countries where the pets are going to; but this is also for stress management, and to be certain the pet has no tranquilizer in their system, and that the pet is healthy for travel.
AIRFREIGHT. The airline freight charge is based on the heavier of either the actual weight of the pet & kennel, or the volume weight (calculated at 6,000cm3=1Kg). Even though the airline does break down their invoice in to Freight plus many items, they will not move the shipment until the total amount has been paid - no negotiations.
KENNELS In almost every case, a new kennel is required (sold at cost).
