How good are they?
PETFLIGHT QUOTES. We are very careful with our written quotation. We do require you give us all we need to know, in writing (to avoid misunderstandings). We never quote over the telephone. The quote is carefully calculated - from simply knowing about your pets needs, to the requirements of the country, flights, routing, remembering additional costs of arrival on holy days, considering extreme temperature embargoes, and more. We belong to IPATA in order to get up to date information, and have a broad range of agents to call on in destination countries. As with any company who's sole purpose is to ship your pet, the services we provide are all required - it serves no purpose to itemize individual costs.

BALLPARK: We don't ballpark. It's a marketing ploy, not an accurate measure of cost. Consider: Only the lowest ballpark gets a call back; however, to ridiculously ballpark under the known price, and then invoice high, is an obnoxious practice, and we won't do it. We do a written quotation that is good for the industry standard 30 days (E&OE).
PERMITS AND APPLICATIONS For some countries, we can apply for these on your behalf, but for others, (such as South Africa) our overseas agent, or your family, will have to do this.
PET PICKUP There is a sliding scale based on distance, and time. We have picked up from as far away as Deep River (above Algonquin Park), Windsor, and Fort Erie. If you wish to deliver in to our office instead, we can let you know how much you save.
TRANSIT BOARDING PetFlight is part of the Transport Canada Secure Supply Chain. You, as the unknown shipper of the pet, are considered a risk to the aircraft. We all now live under the constant threat of terrorism. We take your pet to the Veterinary Hospital which Transport Canada has permitted us to use for the purpose of segregating it from the general public for a stated time mandated by your pets destination. It is here that your pet will receive any last minute veterinary work required for the country going to.
AIRFREIGHT. The airline flight charge is based on the heavier of either the actual weight of the pet & kennel, or the volume weight. The airline will charge subsidiaries such as (but not limited to) Fuel Surcharge, Navcan, Security... In addition, specific destinations, such as the UK, include expensive arrival charges (not optional) - for other destinations, arrival charges have to be paid by the consignee (with specific exceptions).
KENNELS. In many cases, a new kennel is required (sold at cost) due to a variety of factors.
